Job summary

Countryside YMCA in Ohio seeks a water fitness instructor to create, teach and oversee pool classes, promoting fitness and healthy aging. You will design exercises for all levels and monitor participant safety.

Qualifications

• Must hold certifications in Basic Life Support (CPR with Oxygen) / Basic First Aid Certifications.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Prior experience as a Water Fitness Instructor or Group Exercise Instructor is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and use equipment properly.
• Instruct classes in accordance with YMCA policies and proper teaching techniques.
• Maintain constant watch on class members and ensure safety.
• Keep participants moving to maximize workout.
• Be friendly and courteous with participants.
• Develop lesson plans for each class.
• Motivate members and communicate safe exercise skills.
• Adhere to pool rules and policies.
• Communicate requests for replacements and time off to supervisor using GroupEX Pro.
