Job summary

Pentar plc is seeking a Sustaining Mechanical Engineering Manager in Hanover Park, IL. You will lead a team of mechanical engineers and designers, drive portfolio optimization, and ensure design for manufacturability across the water filtration portfolio.

The role requires deep mechanical engineering expertise, strong CAD skills, and experience with mass production techniques. You will collaborate across functions to deliver value-driven product improvements and ensure project objectives are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in mechanical engineering, design and analysis in water/food service sector preferred.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, NX).
• Experience designing components for mass production (injection molding, casting, extrusion, sheet metal).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
• Coordinate and monitor work to meet scope, schedule and quality goals.
• Lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
• Define project scope and allocate staff and resources.
• Drive ECR/ECN processes and DFMEA sessions.
• Develop test plans and reports; drive design reviews.
• Collaborate with vendors for manufacturing analysis and optimizations.
