Job summary

GFT is seeking a Water Engineering Intern in Marlton, NJ for a mid-May through mid-August program. You will join a dynamic team to support design services for water, wastewater, and municipal projects with guidance from engineers. The majority of our interns convert to full-time employees.

You will gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD and MS Office while contributing to reports, plans, and cost estimates, and you’ll participate in site visits and permits in a collaborative AEC environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in ABET-accredited undergrad or grad program in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
• Demonstrated interest in water/wastewater engineering via internships or coursework.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in the field and contribute to project teams.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Support real client projects by participating in planning, design, and construction administration of water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects.
• Aid in site visits, surveys, inspections, and data collection for utility infrastructure projects.
• Assist in preparing reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Assist in reviewing subdivision, land development, grading, and zoning plans including stormwater management and erosion control.
• Aid in preparing permit applications for federal, state, and local agencies.
