Job summary
The Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH-ODW) is seeking environmental engineers to support regional offices in Abingdon and Norfolk. These roles handle regulatory compliance, provide technical assistance, conduct on-site inspections, and evaluate engineering documents for Virginia's 170 water treatment plants and 2800 public water systems.
The offices are collaborative and dedicated to protecting public health and ensuring Virginians have a safe and adequate drinking
Qualifications
- Knowledge of biology, microbiology, chemistry and core engineering principles.
- Ability to analyze quantitative data and apply engineering judgment.
- Experience in conveying technical information to diverse audiences and writing technical reports.
- Experience interpreting laws, regulations and complex technical documents.
- Demonstrated leadership and staff development abilities.
- Comprehensive engineering expertise in water-related disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Manage regulatory compliance for water systems.
