Job summary

Arcadis seeks an engineering intern to join the Water Business Line in Austin or San Antonio, Texas. You will assist with evaluating, planning, and designing water, wastewater, and stormwater projects while gaining practical field experience.

You'll work with multi-disciplinary teams across the U.S. and internationally, use digital tools like SharePoint and BIM, and develop memos and drawings under supervision to support client deliverables.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, or another closely related academic discipline.
• Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, and design projects for water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment and conveyance.
• Assist with field investigations, calculations, memos, drawings, specs, and construction-phase support.
• Troubleshoot processes and optimize operations while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and AV materials; participate in client meetings.

Role description:

We are currently seeking an engineering intern to join our Water Business Line in our Austin or San Antonio office!

Role accountabilities:

In this role, responsibilities include evaluating, planning, and designing projects for water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment and conveyance. You will also be responsible for assessing, developing, and supporting the design of facilities and infrastructure by assisting with field investigations, performing calculations, writing technical memos, assembling drawings, writing specifications, and helping with construction phase services. You will also be involved in troubleshooting processes and optimizing operations. This role involves problem solving and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

In addition to the responsibilities mentioned, you will also:

• Support preparation of reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participate in client meetings.
• Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality, health and safety standards, and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget.
• Work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to accommodate collaboration with team members across the U.S. and internationally.
• Learn and use digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint and Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a BS in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, or another closely related academic discipline.
• Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior internship or coursework in water/wastewater, water resources, or related sectors.
• EIT certification.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
