Job summary

Arcadis in Clifton Park, NY is seeking an Entry Level Water Engineer to support and grow our water team. You will collaborate with experienced professionals to develop projects addressing water, wastewater, and stormwater management, while building your technical capabilities.

The role involves fieldwork, data analysis, and client interaction, with exposure to CAD, BIM, and digital tools such as Power BI and SharePoint. A Civil or Environmental Engineering degree and EIT readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Ability to obtain EIT within one year of hire.

Role description:

We are currently searching for Entry Level Water Engineers to support and grow our team in Clifton Park, NY. We are looking for dedicated, creative, and energetic candidates interested in tackling challenges and developing sustainable solutions to address water issues. Collaborating with our experienced water professionals, you will support and drive the development of projects, interact, and work with clients, and develop your technical capabilities.

Role accountabilities:

As an Entry Level Water Engineer you will possess a strong foundation in engineering concepts and theories related to water, wastewater, and stormwater management. You will need to have excellent technical aptitude and be familiar with various software tools such as CAD, AutoCAD, Revit, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, EPANET, and Modflow, which are beneficial for project work. You will need to be skilled in evaluating, planning, designing, and supporting the management of projects involving water treatment, wastewater treatment, and stormwater conveyance including pipelines and pumping facilities. Additionally, you will need to provide valuable support in project management efforts including managing project scopes, budgets, and client deliverables.

• Assess, develop, and support management of sustainability and resilience projects.
• Exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Perform fieldwork activities such as site visits, construction inspection, sampling, water quality analyses, asset inventory, flow monitoring set-up and monitoring, technology evaluations, and plant operations information, process troubleshooting and optimization.
• Support Asset Management projects performing data analytics, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments and overall performance evaluations of water/wastewater/stormwater facilities.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participate in client meetings.
• Use digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Power BI, and Augmented Reality, as well as designing and managing databases and cloud-based computing services.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or a closely related engineering discipline).
• Ability to obtain EIT within one year of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior work/internship experience at a design or consulting engineering firm or municipal work environment.
• Familiarity/ experience with CAD, AutoCAD, Revit
• EIT certification

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $62,353 - $91,080 / per year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
