AtkinsRéalis is seeking an entry-level Water Engineer to join our Water Team in Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC. This position offers mentoring and exposure to national and international projects.

The role emphasizes applying standard engineering techniques, data analysis, and report preparation with supervision from senior staff. ABET-accredited civil engineering degree and E.I./EIT preference are highlighted.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of professional experience in a related technical field.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Proficiency in PC software; knowledge of ArcGIS, Microstation, AutoCAD, and hydraulic/water tools preferred.
• Professional registrations: E.I. or EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply standard engineering techniques to a sequence of diversified tasks.
• Prepare assigned sections of reports under close supervision.
• Perform data acquisition and analysis; assess design approaches and regulatory specs.
• Prepare materials for reports and permit applications.
• Perform engineering calculations.
• Conduct field observations of construction where appropriate.
• Support supervisor with other duties as needed.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Engineer to join our Water Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC. Great opportunity be part of a thriving team of young engineers and to work on national and international projects.

Your role

• Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of somewhat diversified tasks requiring the use of analysis, interpretation, and deductive reasoning.
• Prepare assigned sections of reports working under the close review of an experienced professional.
• Perform data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
• Prepare material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing outlines, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.
• Perform engineering calculations.
• Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.
• Perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary

About you

• EXPERIENCE: 0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field.
• EDUCATION: Completion of bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET accredited college/university.
• SPECIAL SKILLS: PC skills required. Knowledge and experience in the use of the following software desired but not required: ArcGIS, Microstation, AutoCad, HEC-HMS, WaterGEMS, SWMM, Infoworks ICM and HEC-RAS.
• PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: E.I. or EIT preferred.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $70,000 - $80,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
