Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an entry-level Water Engineer to join our Water Team in Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC. This role offers the opportunity to work on national and international projects under the guidance of experienced professionals.

You will apply standard engineering methods, perform data analysis, assist with reports and permits, and participate in field observations. A ABET-accredited civil engineering degree is required; EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited civil engineering bachelor’s degree.
  • 0–2 years of related professional experience.
  • Proficiency with common engineering software; EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Apply standard engineering techniques to diversified tasks with analysis and deduction.
  • Prepare assigned report sections under close review by a professional.
  • Perform data acquisition, analysis and feasibility studies of design approaches.
  • Prepare materials for reports and permit applications and graphic presentations.
  • Perform engineering calculations and occasional field observations.
  • Take on additional duties as directed by supervision.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Engineer to join our Water Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC. Great opportunity be part of a thriving team of young engineers and to work on national and international projects.

Your role
  • Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of somewhat diversified tasks requiring the use of analysis, interpretation, and deductive reasoning.
  • Prepare assigned sections of reports working under the close review of an experienced professional.
  • Perform data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
  • Prepare material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing outlines, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.
  • Perform engineering calculations.
  • Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.
  • Perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary
About you
  • EXPERIENCE: 0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field.
  • EDUCATION: Completion of bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET accredited college/university.
  • SPECIAL SKILLS: PC skills required. Knowledge and experience in the use of the following software desired but not required: ArcGIS, Microstation, AutoCad, HEC-HMS, WaterGEMS, SWMM, Infoworks ICM and HEC-RAS.
  • PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: E.I. or EIT preferred.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $70,000 - $80,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
