Job summary

WaterOne is seeking a heavy equipment operator to install and maintain water mains, valves and hydrants. You will read maps, use GIS and GPS, perform tests, and ensure safe operation of all equipment on job sites.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and either hold or be able to obtain a Class A CDL with tanker and air brakes endorsements, plus relevant operator certificates. Overtime and on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must obtain CSUS Distribution Operator Certification within 18 months.
• Ability to obtain Grade I Distribution Operator Certificate.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker and air brakes endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to operate heavy vehicles safely under all traffic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain water mains and appurtenances.
• Operate heavy trucks and equipment at work sites.
• Read maps, use GIS and GPS to locate utilities.
• Perform leak detection and test hydrants for proper operation.
• Maintain safety and comply with all rules and regulations.
