Job summary

Aqua is seeking a Distribution Technician to support maintenance, operation, and construction of water distribution facilities. The role requires handling service lines, hydrants, meters, and booster stations while adhering to regulatory standards.

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and relevant licenses (CDL-A, OEPA Class I, and competent person) or obtain them per bargaining agreement. Strong communication and multitasking abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license; CDL-A or able to obtain one as per agreement.
• OEPA Class I Distribution License or ability to obtain per agreement.
• Competent person certification or ability to obtain within specified period.
• Company may require testing to determine qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment at water production facilities and booster stations.
• Operates and maintains water distribution systems including mains, valves, hydrants, service lines.
• Completes service work orders and updates system documentation; closes work orders.
• Ensures work complies with OEPA and PUCO regulatory requirements and safety policies.
• Operates and maintains equipment and vehicles for water system maintenance.
• Reads maps, drawings, and GIS data; interprets schematics.
• Performs field service representative and meter reading work as assigned.
• Interacts with internal staff and customers; communicates status via email/text.
• All other duties as assigned.
