Job summary

Construction Association of Michigan is seeking a Water Distribution Maintenance employee in Painesville, OH. The role covers repair, maintenance and inspection of the water distribution system, including emergency response and public interaction.

Responsibilities include locating and repairing buried pipes, flushing and cleaning lines, maintaining records, and operating heavy equipment such as dump trucks, backhoes, and excavators.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED. Valid Ohio Driver's license with clean driving record and drug screening.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: construction experience including excavations, waterline, valve and hydrant repair and installation, service connections and meter setting; ability to communicate well; work with public officials and public.
• This position requires physical labor outdoors in all weather, emergency call outs at all hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergencies and interacts with the public.
• Locate and repair buried pipes and leaks; make pipe connections; flush and clean pipes.
• Keep accurate records and operate/detect and maintain water distribution system safety.
• Operates dump truck and heavy equipment such as backhoes and mini excavators.
• Perform shop, vehicle and equipment maintenance.
