Job summary

The City of Compton seeks a Water Operations Supervisor to plan, organize, and supervise crews maintaining the City's water distribution systems. You will ensure compliance with regulations, manage materials and budgets, and coordinate with multiple departments and stakeholders.

Responsibilities include safety program enforcement, emergency response, and interdepartmental communication. Supervisory experience and relevant certificates are required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Class B California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
• Possession of a Grade D-3 Distribution Systems Certificate from the California State Water Resources Control Board is required at time of application.
• Possession of a Grade T-1 Water Treatment Certificate from the California State Water Resources Control Board is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, supervises, and inspects the work of others engaged in the repair, construction and maintenance of the City's water distribution system; ensures availability of adequate materials and supplies; reviews work sites for compliance with Water Operations Division, City and legal regulations and standards; implements Department of Health Services guidelines and requirements related to the City's water distribution system.
