Job summary

Charleston Water System is hiring for Distribution System Operator roles across Apprentice II and III levels. The position involves training through our Distribution System Operator Apprenticeship Program, performing installations, repairs, meter work, hydrant/valve maintenance, and field testing of meters and pipes.

Strong attention to safety and regulatory compliance is essential. Entry-level to journey-level opportunities include progression to Operator II/III with dedicated training, on-site

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally and with a 2-way radio.

Responsibilities

• Perform installations, renewals and repairs to water services and mains.
• Operate and maintain water distribution equipment and meters.
• Assist in maintaining Water Distribution ISO Certification by following SOPs and safety procedures.
