A city is seeking a Water Distribution Maintenance Worker II to perform essential maintenance tasks on the water distribution system. The role involves operating tools and equipment, performing manual labor, and ensuring safety standards. Job Title: Water Distribution Maintenance Worker II
Responsible for performing unskilled and semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance of the City water distribution system, working individually or as part of a team on planned or scheduled activities.
Reports to the Water Distribution Maintenance Leader II. Does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Training and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; at least one year of experience in construction or maintenance trades, including operation of light to medium construction equipment.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Knowledge of manual labor practices, safety precautions, and tools; ability to follow instructions, lead manual work, operate mechanical and automotive equipment, read plans, and interpret specifications; ability to plan and oversee work and influence others.
Includes walking, standing, lifting (up to 50 pounds regularly, over 60 pounds occasionally), reaching, twisting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and sufficient vision, speech, and hearing. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
Valid Oklahoma Class D driver’s license required; Water license issued by the State Department of Health or ability to obtain within nine months.
Primarily outdoors, with travel to various locations. Exposure to weather conditions, requiring weekend and holiday work, and standby status.
