Job summary

City of Houston seeks a senior manager to oversee Distribution System Maintenance and Operations. You will direct repairs, maintenance programs, and safety initiatives across multiple locations, coordinating with other departments and agencies to ensure reliable water service.

Qualified candidates bring extensive experience in utility operations, knowledge of asset management, and proficiency with INFOR/GIS tools, plus a four-year degree and a valid driver license.

Qualifications

• Requires a thorough understanding of analytical/technical or professional disciplines with a formal 4-year degree.
• Seven (7) years of experience closely related to the activities of the area or division to be supervised.

Responsibilities

• Oversees, manages, and directs operations, repairs, and personnel for a Distribution System Maintenance and Operations facility.
• Plans and supervises repair and preventive maintenance of water mains, valves, hydrants, manholes, and other facilities.
• Monitors routes and productivity to ensure efficient operations and ensure contractors/inspectors meet contractual requirements.
• Maintains knowledge of technology and legislative changes impacting activities and initiates necessary actions.
• Monitors budget status and assists in annual fiscal year budget preparation.
