Job summary

City of Pocatello's Water Department is seeking a Construction Worker to perform concrete, masonry and carpentry tasks on streets and water distribution projects. You will assist in meter vaults construction, and support plumbers with water line work.

Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, a CDL with endorsements, and a Class I drinking water operator certification within 18 months. Field work includes on-call emergencies and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Flagging, CPR, and First Aid certifications preferred.
• Class A CDL with endorsements required within 6 months.
• Class I Drinking Water Distribution Operator certification within 18 months.
• Two+ years masonry and concrete experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform concrete site preparation, forming, pouring, and finishing on streets and roadways, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and driveways.
• Construct and repair concrete and masonry meter vaults and related structures for Water Distribution projects.
• Assist plumbers with installation, repair of water lines, hydrants, valves and meters.
• Operate and maintain department equipment; support safety and compliance.
