Job summary

TYLin in Milwaukee seeks a summer intern to join the Water Sector. You will support experienced engineers on a variety of water and wastewater projects, assisting with drawings, calculations, feasibility studies, and permit tasks.

You’ll learn design guidelines, planning and EA processes while collaborating with a diverse team and contributing to project deliverables for multiple assignments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce quality results.
• Willingness to learn new software and ability to apply it.
• Capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to learn the approval process, including design guidelines and standards.
• Ability to learn the planning process and EA process.
• High levels of integrity, ethical and collaborative mindset.
• Demonstrated collaboration in a diverse, inclusive team and good time management.
• Experience with ArcGIS and Environmental Assessment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Creating conceptual, preliminary and detailed drawings for water and wastewater projects.
• Performing calculations for sanitary and storm sewers and watermains.
• Assisting the project team with feasibility studies and functional plans.
• Assisting with permits and approvals to proceed with construction.
• Coordinating with suppliers and contractors for standards and shop drawings.
• Working on multiple projects through different phases.
• Assisting with contract administration and inspection duties on sites.
• Supporting business development efforts including proposals and time/task matrices.
