Job summary

Pinellas County is seeking a Water Conservation Compliance Officer to help implement and enforce water restrictions, support regulatory work, and educate the public on conservation practices.

This role involves field enforcement, investigations, public speaking at events, coordinating with community groups, and preparing notices and citations as required. A valid Florida driver's license and flexibility for varied schedules are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED and 2 years of public contact experience.
• At least 2 years of college or vocational training in environmental studies or related field; or
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs investigations of violations of water restrictions and issues citations.
• Assists in enforcement field operations and citation processes.
• Reads maps, aerial photos, surveys and legal documents to support enforcement.
• Investigates customer complaints of non-compliance and prepares correspondence.
• Develops and delivers training sessions and informational presentations on water restriction enforcement.
• Appears at community events and public meetings to address citizen groups.
