Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Summer 2027 Water Sector Intern to join our team in the United States. You will work with experienced engineers and support a variety of projects, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to technical deliverables.

You will assist with drawings, analyses, feasibility studies, and permit applications, while learning planning and EA processes and collaborating with a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or MicroStation is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce quality results.
• Willingness to learn new software and apply it.
• Capable of working independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to learn the approval process, including design guidelines and standards.
• Ability to learn the planning process and EA process.
• Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working toward technical excellence.
• Ability to time manage and prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with ArcGIS and Environmental Assessment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Create drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D for water and wastewater projects.
• Perform calculations and analyses for sanitary and storm sewers and watermains.
• Assist project team with feasibility studies and functional plans.
• Help obtain permits and approvals.
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors.
• Work on multiple projects across phases.
• Assist with contract administration and construction inspection duties.
• Support business development including proposals and time task matrices.
