Job summary

TYLin invites an Intern to join the Water Sector for Summer 2027. You’ll collaborate with engineers, gain hands-on experience, and support a range of water and wastewater projects.

Work includes drafting, calculations, permitting support, and coordination with vendors. The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and exposure to multiple project phases within a global infrastructure firm.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or MicroStation is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn new software and apply it.

Responsibilities

  • Create conceptual, preliminary and detailed engineering drawings (Plan & Profiles) using AutoCAD Civil 3D for water and wastewater projects.
  • Perform calculations and analysis for sanitary and storm sewers and watermains.
  • Support project team with feasibility studies, functional plans and documentation.
  • Assist in obtaining permits and approvals to proceed with construction.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for standards and shop drawings.
  • Contribute to multiple projects across different phases.
  • Assist with contract administration and site inspections as needed.
  • Support business development with proposals and task matrices.

Job Summary

Looking to make waves in the world of Water engineering? Our team is looking for an Intern to join our Water Sector for the Summer 2027 term. In this role, you'll work with experienced Engineers and hone your knowledge by supporting a variety of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Creating conceptual, preliminary and detailed engineering drawings including Plan and Profiles through AutoCAD Civil3D, engineering reports, calculations, specifications and cost estimates for water and wastewater projects
  • Performing calculations and analysis using engineering formulas for design of sanitary and storm sewers, and watermains
  • Assisting the project team in delivering projects, and with the preparation of feasibility studies and functional plans
  • Assisting in applying for and obtaining the necessary permits and approvals to proceed with construction
  • Coordination with Suppliers and contractors for industry standards and shop drawings
  • Working on multiple projects simultaneously through different phases
  • Assisting with contract administration and construction inspection duties on project sites as required
  • Assisting with business development efforts including proposals and time task matrices
Qualifications
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce quality results.
  • Willingness to learn new software and ability to apply it
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to learn the approval process, including design guidelines and standards
  • Ability to learn the planning process and EA process
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence
  • Ability to time manage and prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience with ArcGIS and Environmental Assessment is an asset
