Job summary

California Water Service Group (Cal Water) invites you to join as an Asset Management Engineer located in San Jose, CA. The Tank & Pipeline Engineering team provides maintenance support for tanks, pipelines, cathodic protection, wells, pumps and related assets to ensure reliability and safety.

You will manage risk and lifecycle programs, contribute to capital planning, KPI development, and contractor oversight, while traveling as project needs require.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university or equivalent relevant water utility experience.
• Two years of asset management engineering experience desired.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent presentation abilities.
• Customer service oriented attitude and ability to support stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel as required by project needs.

Responsibilities

• Condition assessments of tanks, pipelines, and pump infrastructure.
• Attend field work, meetings, and trainings as directed.
• Coordinate and advise on projects, communicating risks and options to stakeholders.
• Identify, plan, estimate, and document repairs and preventive maintenance for asset classes.
• Manage multiple projects across geographic locations and liaise with vendors.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and contract awards.
