Job summary

Apple is seeking an Engineering Project Manager in Cupertino to support the Watch Product Design organization. The role centers on technical project management and assisting engineering development with one of our Watch PD teams, leveraging a mechanical engineering background to drive day-to-day activities toward program objectives.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent; BSME preferred.
• 2+ years in product development, PM or mechanical design.
• Strong knowledge of product development processes.
• Solid mechanical engineering fundamentals and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain streamlined processes, capture parallel designs and clear paths to closure with owners for each action item.
• Drive upstream component/module builds to fulfill system engineering build demands; contribute to build planning/execution.
• Coordinate across engineering, operations, industrial design, and vendor partners to meet quality, schedule, and cost goals.
• Understand technical issues and drive to closure by bringing together stakeholders and facilitating decisions.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies; focus on top-level objectives and conflict resolution between teams.
• Create/maintain complex project schedules for product enclosure and internal mechanical components; respond quickly to changes.
• Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management as priorities shift.
• Understand system-level part interactions and plan reliability testing configurations.
• Coordinate cosmetic and functional partial unit builds for key reviews and early testing.
• Offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of contributors to exec management.
