Job summary

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston is seeking an experienced Watch Engineer to monitor and maintain the building's mechanical systems, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers and BMS, ensuring climate control across the museum.

This full-time, second-shift role (Sat/Sun 2pm-10pm) offers hourly pay between $42.05 and $44.25, commensurate with experience. Candidates should have a 2nd Class Fireman's License, 5 years' experience, and proficiency with CMMS and BMS systems.

Qualifications

• 2nd Class Fireman's License required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of Windows computers, BMS, CMMS (Facility Dude).
• Strong oral and written English communication.
• Ability to work under pressure and in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and related equipment.
• Regulate temperature and humidity using the BMS and respond to alarms.
• Record utilities and logs; maintain boiler and chiller logs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs; assist with plumbing and electrical tasks.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with departments during incidents.
