Job summary

The City of Springfield Environmental Services is seeking a Waste Water Video Technician to implement a system of sewer inspection and rehabilitation by inspecting active and new sewer lines using closed circuit television equipment.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, two years of direct experience with storm water or sanitary sewer systems, a valid driver's license, and required certifications (Solid Waste Technician and OSHA 40-hour Hazardous

  • Two years direct experience with storm water, repairing or maintaining sanitary sewer systems.
  • Directly related work experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License; certification as Solid Waste Technician and OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Training within probationary period.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect active and new sewer lines using closed circuit television equipment to assess conditions.
  • Assist in sewer rehabilitation as directed by supervision.

Job description

The City of Springfield's Environmental Services is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Waste Water Video Technician. This position will implement a system of sewer inspection and rehabilitation by inspecting active and new sewer lines using closed circuit television equipment.

Experience, Education, and Training


  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Civil or Chemical Engineering, computer sciences or related discipline from an accredited college or university.


AND


  • Two years direct experience with storm water, repairing or maintaining sanitary sewer systems.

  • Directly related work experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.


PREFERRED


  • Experience repairing closed circuit video equipment.


Licensing/Certification


  • Must possess a valid Driver's License;

  • Must possess or obtain and maintain certification as a Solid Waste Technician and OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Training within probationary period.
