The Environmental Services Department of the City of Springfield is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Education Outreach Coordinator. Working alongside and reporting to the Superintendent of Solid Waste, this position serves as key member of the Education and Outreach leadership team dedicated to sharing to the community Springfield’s Integrated Solid Waste Management System which includes the Landfill, Recycle Centers, Yard Waste Recycle Center, Education and Outreach, and the Household Chemical Collection Center. The Education Outreach Coordinator will manage, direct, and develop the solid waste education programs, oversee professional educators, plan and participate in landfill and recycle center tours, participant in community events which are environmentally focused, and work alongside Public Information and Environmental Services support staff.
