Job summary

City of Arvada seeks an entry-level Utility System Technician – Associate (Wastewater) to support maintenance, inspection, and protection of sewer systems. You’ll gain hands-on experience with video inspection, cleaning, and pumps, while developing required certifications and licenses.

Work outdoors with field crews, handle customer service calls, and learn to interpret maps and operate a variety of equipment in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public Works construction, operation, and maintenance.
• Ability to read utility maps and site plans.
• Willingness to obtain/maintain required licenses within one year.
• Strong safety awareness and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sanitary and storm sewer systems, including cleaning and inspection.
• Operates equipment such as dump trucks, backhoe, and CCTV vans.
• Responds to customer service calls and documents issues.
• Reads maps and uses locating equipment to mark underground utilities.
