Job summary

The San Jacinto River Authority is seeking a Wastewater Utility Operator for the Woodlands Division, located at Woodlands Wastewater Treatment Plant 2 in The Woodlands, TX. The role operates wastewater collection, conveyance, treatment and disposal systems and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of wastewater operations experience, a Class C wastewater and/or Class C groundwater operator license, and a valid

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in the operations and maintenance of wastewater systems.
• A minimum of a TCEQ Class C Wastewater Operator and/or Class C Groundwater Operator license is required.
• Valid Texas Driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate wastewater collection, conveyance, treatment and disposal systems in a safe, cost-effective and compliant manner.
• Utilize SCADA data and field observations to optimize operations and advise on process adjustments.
• Perform general manual labor, routine maintenance, and equipment lubrication.
• Track inventory and order chemicals and supplies for plant operations.
• Obtain and maintain required certifications; participate in on-call rotations as designated.
