Manatee County Government is seeking a technically skilled wastewater technician to perform maintenance, repair, and operation tasks for the County’s wastewater systems in Bradenton. Duties include handling pumps, valves, and pipelines, with on-call requirements and physical work in various conditions.

The role requires a HS diploma, relevant certifications, and advancing levels (Tech IA–III) with increasing experience and training.

Qualificações

• Tech IA–III levels require HS diploma or equivalent; standby/on-call schedule is required.
• Tech IA: no experience needed.
• Tech IB: 1 year (2080 hrs) in sewage pump maintenance.
• Tech II: 3 years (6240 hrs) in sewage pump maintenance.
• Tech III: 5 years (10400 hrs) in sewage pump maintenance.
• Tech IB: Class C Wastewater Technician Certification + 2 training classes.
• Tech II: Class B Wastewater Technician Certification + 5 training classes.
• Tech III: Class A Wastewater Technician Certification + 9 training classes.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain, repair, and operate wastewater lines, manholes, and lift stations.
• Operate service trucks, backhoes, dump trucks, and related equipment.
• Train technicians and serve in lead capacity when required.
• Read blueprints, maps, and as-builts; prepare parts and tools.
• Ensure job-site safety and complete daily activity reports.
• Respond to after-hours emergency repair calls.

High school diploma or recognized equivalent

Ability to lift 50 lbs (up to 100 lbs with assistance)
