The turn shifts are 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., includes weekends and holidays

Primary Role

This position conducts regular housekeeping of all facilities & grounds. Fills in for Operator & Outside Operator when necessary requirements are met.

Key Accountabilities
  • Assists other plant personnel as needed. Works a rotating shift schedule.
  • Loads and unloads supplies, scrap, and miscellaneous materials manually.
  • Hoses and cleans out processing tanks as required.
  • Climbs ladders and steps in order to carry out assigned tasks.
  • Operates all necessary safety equipment.
  • Assists in preparing work reports, maintenance records, and equipment reports.
  • Paints walls and pipes from ground level as well as on scaffolding.
  • Operates gas powered pumps, generators, lawn mowers, snow blowers, grass trimmers, steam jenny, etc
  • Performs snow removal, grass cutting, trimming, clean-up of interior and exterior premises.
  • Performs excavation work such as digging ditches and trenches.
  • Erects portable scaffolding and assists in erecting pipe scaffolding.
  • Performs manual material handling throughout the plant.
  • Changes light bulbs as required.
  • Participates in ongoing training and development in duties and tasks.
  • Assists Operator in changing chlorine cylinders. Enters tanks using extension ladders.
  • Inspects pump stations on first and third shifts.
  • Responds to all emergency call-outs.
  • General housekeeping of all plant facilities.
  • Performs all other duties as required by management.
  • Works overtime as required.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of safety rules and safe work practices in a plant operation.
  • Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills with all hand and power tools.
Experience/Education

High school diploma or GED.

Certifications/Licenses

PA DEP WW Operator license Class A, E preferred.

PA DOT Certification required.

  • Work safely in an environment that includes significant noise, atmospheric conditions, and some environmental hazards that necessitate safety gear, eye protection, and occasionally a respirator.
  • Able to lift, carry, and drag equipment and exert force up to forty (40) pounds; climb over and pull up oneself over obstacles; jump down from an elevated surface; climb through openings; jump over obstacles; crawl in confined areas; balance on uneven or narrow surfaces and use body force to gain entrance.
  • Climb steps and ladders on a regular basis to perform assigned tasks
Other
  • Completion of pre-employment medical examination including drug and alcohol test.
  • Able to lift, carry, and drag equipment and exert force up to forty (40) pounds; climb over and pull up oneself over obstacles; jump down from an elevated surface; climb through openings; jump over obstacles; crawl in confined areas; balance on uneven or narrow surfaces and use body force to gain entrance.
