Job summary

Brakebush Brothers, Inc. is seeking a Waste Water Treatment Technician to operate, troubleshoot and repair equipment within the facility to ensure wastewater is properly treated and processed.

You will maintain a clean, safe work area, follow the preventive maintenance schedule, and handle a variety of chemicals while adhering to OSHA safety practices.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid driver's license.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair the equipment in WWTP.
• Basic welding skills and basic electrical repair capabilities.
• Knowledge of pneumatics; pipe fitting ability and related licenses as required by state or federal regulations.

Responsibilities

WAGE: $31.81 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

Operate, troubleshoot and repair equipment within Waste Water Treatment Facility, as necessary, to ensure that wastewater is properly treated and processed.

JOB DUTIES

• Maintain clean, safe working area.
  • Wash walls, ceiling, floor, and railings of wastewater treatment plant.
  • Clean drains.
  • Clean DAF unit, mixing tanks, water pipes, and other areas as assigned.
• Operate DAF, clarifier and sludge press without supervision to produce the best quality effluent possible.
• Identify and repair abnormalities in machinery and pumps.
• Utilize the current preventive maintenance schedule and work load.
• Keep the outside grounds around the wastewater treatment plant clean, neat, and orderly.
• The following duties as assigned will be also be required to be completed:
  • Clean screen in lift station.
  • Observe outside plant activities on grounds and parking lot. (Night observer)
  • Routing outside drains.
  • Work in lift station to clean check valves and clean pumps
  • Pull in aerators, trouble shoot and repair as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Operate spray irrigation equipment, tractor and snow plows.
  • Will be required to work with and safely handle a variety of chemicals.
• Able to tolerate wide variations in environment (temperature, humidity, flour, etc.)
• Several potential hazards are present, including working at heights, within confined space, with hazardous chemicals, heavy lifting. Operator is required to follow all safety practices and use proper equipment (barrel cart, ladders, PPE), to ensure the facility remains OSHA compliant and, injuries and accidents are avoided.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must meet the Wastewater Treatment Technician Back & Task requirements. Working on ladders and scaffolding for cleaning and painting. Exposure to a variety of chemicals (i.e.) caustic sodas, sulfuric acid, polymers, alum and cleaning detergents. Working in confined spaces. Working near or on vessels of water.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must hold a valid driver's license. Must have mechanical aptitude and ability to understand, troubleshoot and repair the equipment in WWTP. Basic welding skills, basic electrical repair capabilities, pipe fitting ability and knowledge of pneumatics. Will be required to obtain necessary related operators licenses as required by state or federal regulations.
