Job summary

Mountaire Farms is seeking a Wastewater Supervisor to oversee daily treatment operations, processes and equipment. You will supervise operators on shift, ensure safe and compliant operations, and coordinate with environmental and production teams. The role requires 3+ years in wastewater treatment and a Level 1 certification or state license.

You will be part of a team focused on consistent performance, documentation, and adherence to procedures to support Mountaire's production goals.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years' relevant wastewater treatment experience with supervision.
  • Must hold a Wastewater Operator Level 1 certification or applicable state license.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and SOPs.
  • Strong communication and safety commitment.

The supervisor provides direct shift-level oversight of wastewater operators to promote safe, consistent, and compliant operations.

Provides day‑to‑day supervision of wastewater treatment operations, processes and equipment. This role supports stable treatment operations through adherence to established procedures, monitoring of system conditions, and effective documentation and communication with wastewater operations, production and environmental teams. The supervisor provides direct shift‑level oversight of wastewater operators to promote safe, consistent, and compliant operations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate day‑to‑day operation of wastewater treatment processes and equipment, including routine operation, basic maintenance coordination, chemical usage monitoring, recordkeeping, and equipment readiness. Ensure systems are operated in accordance with established procedures to support wastewater treatment objectives and operational continuity.
  • Monitor operating conditions, logs, and treatment performance data to identify deviations from established operating parameters. Complete required documentation and communicate operating issues, observations, and data summaries to the Wastewater Operations Manager and Environmental team as directed.
  • Provide direct, shift‑level supervision of wastewater treatment operators, including work direction, job assignment, schedule execution, and reinforcement of training and procedural compliance. Support employee onboarding, coaching, and performance feedback in coordination with management.
  • Promote a safe working environment by ensuring appropriate use of safety equipment, adherence to established safety procedures, and safe execution of wastewater operations. Observe treatment activities to support safe flows, proper sludge handling, and operational control in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Coordinate routine operational communication within wastewater and environmental by sharing system status updates, operating concerns, and required documentation. Escalate operational or treatment issues to management as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years' relevant wastewater treatment experience, including demonstrated experience providing day‑to‑day work direction or supervision of operators.
  • Must hold a Wastewater Operator Level 1 certification or applicable state license required to operate wastewater treatment systems.
  • Working knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, and routine operating parameters.
  • Basic understanding of chemical handling, storage, and usage control in wastewater treatment operations.
  • Ability to follow and reinforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety requirements.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with other operational teams and escalate concerts to management as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and hazard awareness related to wastewater treatment operations.
