Job summary

The City of Creston is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent to lead daily operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance for the treatment facility and its sewage collection system.

Requires high school diploma, at least ten years in a wastewater plant with four years in supervisory roles, plus a current Iowa driver’s license and a Class B CDL (tanker) or ability to obtain within six months; Grade 3 or 4 Wastewater Operator Certification required. Veterans’ preference applies.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT SUPERINTENDENT

The City of Creston Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent – manages the daily operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of the wastewater treatment facility and sewage collection system to protect public health and the environment. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with at least ten years of experience in a wastewater treatment plant including a minimum of four years of supervisory experience in direct responsibility charge. Must have a current valid Iowa drivers license, a current valid Class B CDL with tanker endorsement, or acquire within six months after hire and a current Grade 3 or Grade 4 Wastewater Operator Certification issued by Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Wage is based on experience and qualifications.
