Job description

We have one vacancy at the Water Restoration Plant for a Treatment Plant Specialist I with a focus on pre-treatment. This position will perform inspections, analyze processes, compare results to regulations and requirements, track changes and ensure compliance. Duties also include monitoring reports and lab data, verifying accuracy of reports, determining deadlines, compliance and performing sampling of permitted users. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with additional coursework in chemistry, biology or science preferred and an Associate's Degree in a related field is desirable. An Oregon DEQ Wastewater Treatment I certificate is required within 18 months of promotion date. Incumbents must live within a 30 minute drive of their regularly assigned work site.

This position follows a regular work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Training and Experience

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with additional coursework in chemistry, biology or science preferred. An Associate's degree in a related field is desirable.

Licensing Requirements

• Valid Oregon Driver's License Class C
• Forklift Certificate required within 12 months of appointment
• Must obtain Oregon DEQ Wastewater Treatment I certificate within 18 months of hire

Incumbents may be required to obtain CPR certification and Confined Space Entrant, Attendant and/or Supervisor Certification. Incumbents must be in possession of or have the ability to obtain any certification or license required by City, State or Federal agencies to work in assigned position.
