Qualifications

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
• Experience to understand the major duties of the position usually 1–3 years, or apprenticeship/internship.
• Valid NC driver's license and state-certified license for water or wastewater treatment or distribution as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wastewater treatment plant and identify needed changes and potential problems; interpret lab data; make necessary adjustments.
• Receive shipments of chemicals and other supplies from vendor.
• Perform chemical analysis of water samples.
• Operate a computer to monitor pump stations, plant operations, and alarms.
• Maintain daily records and shift logs of plant operations.
• Review readings from meters, computers, and instruments.
