Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment associated with the wastewater treatment plant. Inspects equipment to ensure proper operating condition and performs routine preventive maintenance. Responds to equipment issues and assists with related tasks as required. Must be available to work extended hours during emergencies.

Salary:$23.23 - $24.40 Per Hour (Effective July 1, 2025)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Inspects plant equipment daily for proper working condition.
• Inspect equipment before operation to assure that all controls and safety devices are functioning properly. Lubricate and otherwise service the equipment as part of a programmed preventive maintenance schedule. Report malfunctions to the Foreman or Supervisor.
• Responds to alarms.
• Operates light and heavy motor equipment.
• Performs general maintenance work, including cleaning, lubricating, painting, and related scheduled and preventative maintenance of any plant equipment.
• Performs related repair work as needed.
• Performs similar or related work as required, or as the situation dictates.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High School diploma or equivalent; at least one (1) year of related work experience or technical training to perform assigned duties at the journeyman level; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

• Massachusetts Class B Commercial Driver’s License
• Massachusetts Class 2B, Hoisting Engineer’s License
• OSHA 10 Certification.
