Job summary

Woodard & Curran is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to run the facility's wastewater treatment system in Crawford County, Illinois. You will monitor processes, collect samples, and perform routine maintenance in a hands-on industrial setting.

This rotating shift role offers day, evening, weekend and holiday coverage with overtime opportunities. Pay ranges from $25 to $27 per hour, depending on qualifications and licensure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work safely and follow established operating procedures.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Monitor treatment processes and equipment in the field and through SCADA automation systems.
• Adjust operational parameters to maintain optimal plant performance.
• Collect water quality samples and perform laboratory testing to support regulatory compliance.
• Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on treatment equipment.
• Assist with equipment repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
• Record operational data and utilize maintenance management software to document work activities.
• Perform facility upkeep such as cleaning equipment and work areas, pressure washing, grounds maintenance, painting, and general housekeeping.
