Wastewater Treatment Mechanic

On the job training available to performs skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of specialized plant machinery in the wastewater treatment facility and sewer lift stations. Also performs routine tasks in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment. HS diploma or GED equivalent and vocational or mechanical trade courses involving plumbing, mechanical and electrical repair and installation with five years’ related experience including some experience in the maintenance of water and wastewater pumping systems is required. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Strong knowledge of operational characteristics of mechanical and hydraulic equipment found in water and wastewater treatment and pumping facilities and repair and preventative maintenance techniques and procedures. Ability to read and understand various manuals, shop drawings and schematics is required. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers in a team environment. Valid Drivers License, and the ability to obtain within 12-month the following: NH Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Grade I and NEWEA Collections Systems Operator Grade I.

Pay Range, DOQ: $51,688.00($24.85)- $68,016.00($32.70).
