Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; 1–2 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously and delegate assignments.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures; report unsafe activities.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Responsibilities

• Attend monthly safety meetings and quarterly quality meetings.
• Take accurate readings from flow meters and log data daily.
• Collect samples daily and perform lab analyses when assigned.
• Enter data into computer and email daily zones report.
• Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of WWTP equipment.
• Safely operate belt press and learn new equipment.
• Collect and send effluent samples and quarterly leak detect samples.
• Perform a lagoon berm check monthly and assist with winterization.
• Support weather-related operations and safety compliance.
