Overview
The Facilities Technician III performs planned and unplanned maintenance while supporting chemical wastewater treatment operations to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant facility performance. This role applies electrical, plumbing, and mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment, rebuild pumps, and maintain accurate records using maintenance software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Planned PM’s 40%.
- Unplanned PM’s 20%.
- Chemical Wastewater Treatment 40%.
Other Duties
- Off‑site travel such as Home Depot or a Machine Shop.
- Chemical Wastewater Treatment.
- Keeping track of the maintenance software “Limble”.
- Make up small blueprints or drawings using a CAD software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 1‑3 years of electrical experience.
- 1‑3 years of plumbing experience.
- 1‑3 years of working with a maintenance tracking software.
- Must have critical thinking and organization skills.
- Must be able to work in “hot” work areas or hazardous locations.
- Must be able to use a computer and use programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel spreadsheets.
- Need to be familiar with LOTO process.
- 1‑2 years of any type of pump rebuilds or repairs.
Educational/Certification Requirement
- High School Diploma (Minimum)
- 2‑year degree (Preferred) in Electrical, Machining, Welding, Plumbing, or HVAC
- Any 1‑year certificate for any trade program (Preferred)
Work Experience Preferred
- 1‑2 years in industrial maintenance
- 1‑2 years as an electrician
- 1‑2 years as a plumber
- 1‑2 years as a welder
- 1‑3 years as a machinist
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Ability to kneel, reach, walk, push, pull, and grasp.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis; sometimes more.
- Work in hot and cold environments.
- Handle and work around many different types of chemicals daily.
- Work with hazardous materials such as arsenic and aluminum dust.
- Work in tight or confined spaces.
- Work in a cleanroom environment.
- Read and comprehend directions.
- Hear and speak to communicate with co‑workers.
Environmental Exposure
- Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computers, etc.
