Job summary

Kobe Aluminum Automotive Products Llc in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Night Shift Wastewater Technician to operate and maintain wastewater systems, monitor performance, troubleshoot equipment and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and plant standards.

This role focuses on monitoring water quality, replacing pumps and sensors, collecting data, and communicating findings to the Foreman and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • 1 year industrial maintenance experience required
  • Wastewater systems experience (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-year college degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain wastewater systems and equipment
  • Monitor chemicals and replenish as needed
  • Monitor water quality from discharge to treatment system
  • Collect data and perform system checks
  • Investigate issues and determine root cause
  • Replace pumps, sensors and plumbing as needed
  • Report findings to Foreman, Engineering Tech and Engineer
  • Provide detailed pass downs to incoming shift
  • Maintain spare parts inventory
  • Uphold safety rules and procedures
  • Maintain organized 5S work areas
  • Perform duties to create an efficient wastewater department
  • Will perform other functions as required

Position Summary

The Wastewater Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining various wastewater systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations while monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting equipment and processes that treat and manage wastewater in compliance with environmental regulations and facility standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the Wastewater Treatment Building and Outside System
  • Responsible for monitoring chemicals and replenishing when needed.
  • Monitor water quality compliance from EP Wastewater Discharge, Wastewater treatment building and Outside wastewater system
  • Collect data on Systems and perform specific checks
  • Investigate all issues and determine root cause of failure
  • Perform periodic replacements of pumps, sensors and plumbing as needed
  • Report findings to Foreman, Engineering Tech and Engineer when necessary
  • Provide detailed pass downs to the incoming shift via email and verbally.
  • Maintaining inventory of spare parts for the department to perform accurate repairs.
  • Maintain good safe working practices.
  • Organize and maintain work areas for a good 5S.
  • Perform all duties necessary in creating an efficient, effective, and affordable Wastewater department.
  • Will perform other functions as required

Education and Experience
  • 1 Year Industrial Maintenance experience
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in Wastewater systems (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-year college degree (preferred)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Requires constant physical activity throughout shift such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Flexible work schedule as needed with adequate notification. Always maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment.
