Job summary

JobSquad Solutions is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Technician to join our Fort Wayne, IN area team. The role involves operating treatment equipment, handling chemicals, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Pay ranges $19-$26 per hour DOE with 6am-4pm or 4pm-2am shifts Monday through Thursday, in an industrial plant environment. The candidate will collect samples, monitor parameters, and maintain logs, while supporting RoHS/REACH compliance initiatives and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1–3+ years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment, plating operations, or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of pretreatment regulations and metal finishing discharge limits.
• RoHS/REACH restricted substance requirements strongly preferred.
• Basic chemistry skills and ability to perform lab titrations/tests.
• Mechanical aptitude for pump/valve maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment (clarifiers, filter presses, ion exchange, RO, chemical feed systems).
• Perform chemical treatment processes such as pH neutralization, metals precipitation, and chelation breaking for plating/finishing waters.
• Collect and test water samples for pH, metal concentrations, and other regulated parameters.
• Maintain accurate logs of chemical usage, flow rates, and lab results for regulatory compliance (EPA, POTW).
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on pumps, valves, tanks, and dosing systems.
• Manage handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste sludge in accordance with RCRA requirements.
• Order and manage inventory of treatment chemicals.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and adjust treatment parameters as needed.
