Job summary

American Water in Godfrey, IL is hiring a Wastewater Collections Technician to maintain and repair the district’s sewer systems. You’ll work with CCTV, Jetter trucks, meters, and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 0–2 years in water/wastewater, valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL and DOT medical card within 6 months. Must lift up to 75 lbs and work Mon-Fri with on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license.
• Class A CDL or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

• IEPA Wastewater Collections Certificate or ability to obtain within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure reliable operation of the district’s wastewater collection system.
• Perform daily, preventive, emergency, and special maintenance tasks on sewer mains and related appurtenances.
• Operate equipment including forklift, Jetter truck, CCTV, flow meters, and telemetry/SCADA systems.
• Create work orders, ensure safety policies, and perform on-call duties as assigned.
