Job summary

The City of Fresno is hiring for a Collection System Maintenance Specialist in the Wastewater Management Division. This full-time role involves hands-on work with sewer cleaning, CCTV inspections, lift stations, and pipeline repairs to keep Fresno's wastewater system flowing smoothly.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of related experience, and CWEA Grade II Collections System Maintenance plus appropriate California driver’s licenses.

Qualifications

• Possession of a High School diploma or equivalent GED completion.
• Two years of full-time paid experience in cleaning, maintenance, inspection, repair and construction of wastewater collection systems.
• CWEA Grade II Collections System Maintenance certificate required at time of application and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Clean sewer lines using hydro-flushing and rodding equipment.
• Conduct CCTV inspections of wastewater pipelines.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair lift stations and related equipment.
• Install and repair pipelines, manholes, and service connections.
• Respond to system alarms and emergency service calls.
• Follow safety protocols and set up traffic control at job sites.
• Operate and maintain a variety of manual and power tools.
• Investigate and resolve customer service requests and complaints.
• Complete service orders, work reports, and time records accurately.
