Job summary

Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC) is seeking a civil engineer to oversee planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. The role includes project management for major capital projects and coordination with staff and local government officials.

The incumbent will work with regulatory agencies, prepare cost estimates and specifications, and supervise staff as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with coursework in civil engineering, or related field.
Moderate experience in water/wastewater engineering project design, engineering plan review, construction administration, project coordination, bid coordination, and contract administration, or equivalent.
Position requires a valid North Carolina Driver's License.
Possession of a NC Engineering Intern (EI) license within 6 months of employment; a Professional Engineer license is desirable.

Responsibilities

Plan, design, and construct WSACC water distribution/treatment and wastewater transmission/treatment facilities.
Provide project management activities for major expense and capital improvement projects.
Interact with staff and local government officials from jurisdictions/services WSACC facilities.
Coordinate with local, State, and Federal regulatory agencies on WSACC projects/activities.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with consultants, regulators, and the public.
