Job summary

3M is seeking a Wastewater Process Engineer to join our Environmental Engineering team in Cottage Grove, MN. This role focuses on applying advanced wastewater treatment knowledge to optimize operations while ensuring compliance with discharge permits and regulatory requirements.

You will work with global teams to drive improvements and support sustainable practices. The position emphasizes process modeling, data analysis, and development of standard work, with responsibilities spanning

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering completed and verified prior to start.
Experience with wastewater treatment processes and regulatory compliance (NPDES and state and federal water quality rules).
Experience with project management and cross-functional teams.
Strong communication skills and collaborative work style.
Proficiency with Excel, Access and SharePoint preferred.

Responsibilities

Optimize treatment effectiveness to meet permit requirements.
Conduct process modeling, data analysis, and evaluations to improve cost efficiency.
Develop and maintain standard work and process control procedures for wastewater operations.
Lead investigation teams for root cause analysis.
Provide engineering support to Operations including troubleshooting and corrective actions.
