Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Qualified Waste Water Engineer for its Casa Grande, AZ plant. The role leads a wastewater operations team, evaluates treatment processes, and develops engineering solutions to meet regulatory and client requirements.

The position involves supporting design, optimization, and startup activities across the wastewater system, with a focus on efficiency, cost savings, and compliance with FDA/OSHA policies and Abbott standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of wastewater process engineering, consulting, or related field with demonstrated plant operation expertise.
• Arizona Wastewater certification Grade 3 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of wastewater operators to meet city wastewater permit requirements.
• Conduct process evaluations and assessments to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
• Develop and implement process design solutions for nutrient removal, odor control, and sludge management.
• Perform hydraulic and mass balance calculations and equipment sizing for treatment systems.
• Prepare PFDs, P&IDs, and other technical documents for wastewater projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technicians to meet client and regulatory standards.
• Provide technical support during construction, startup, and operation of facilities.
