Job summary

CREW Carbon is seeking a Wastewater Process Engineer to design, optimize, and implement CREW’s process-intensification and carbon-removal systems at municipal or industrial facilities.

You will work across Tech, Ops, and Product teams, develop PFDs and mass balances, and help deploy pilot and full-scale projects, traveling to deployment sites as needed.

The role offers a hands-on startup environment with growth opportunities in NY/CT and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5–8+ years of wastewater process engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes including nutrient removal and pH control.
• Experience developing PFDs, P&IDs, site layouts, mass balances, and process unit design.
• Willingness to travel to deployment sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, and dosing designs.
• Translate lab results and field data into insights, reports and actions.
• Collaborate with Technology to address process issues and perform analyses.
• Lead wastewater process and process-mechanical support during engagements.
• Set process optimization and carbon removal targets with Operations.
• Own documentation, training, and design input for internal and external teams.
• Support new projects including alkalinity dosing integration.
• Inform project strategy with Commercial Team.
• Stay current on trends in wastewater treatment and sustainability.
