Waste Resource Management, Inc. (WRM) is seeking a Wastewater Plant Technician I to support operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment processes in a safety‑conscious, environmentally focused team.

You will help ensure compliance with regulations and assist in daily production with the goal of saving water and protecting the environment. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and 3–4 years of related industrial experience, plus coursework in environmental science,

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist in operation of wastewater treatment processes; manage pH, polymer dosing, and disinfection.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment, pumps, and tanks.
• Record data, logs, and prepare reports; troubleshoot with team.
• Coordinate with drivers and other technicians to optimize plant operations.
• Respond to emergencies to minimize environmental impact and maintain operations.

The Wastewater Plant Technician I, will assist in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment processes, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards. Essential Job Functions

• Assist in monitoring and controlling wastewater treatment processes, including screening, sedimentation, filtration, controlling pH and polymer dosing, and disinfection.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of treatment equipment, pumps, and tanks.
• Record operational data, maintain logs, and prepare accurate reports as required.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot, and if necessary, assist in repairing equipment and process issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in wastewater treatment operations.
• Monitor and operate pumps, valves, DAF, screeners, cake disposal and other equipment to control the flow and treatment of wastewater.
• Adjust chemical feed rates and other controls to ensure proper treatment processes, under the direction of the Lead or Technician II. Operates daily production.
• Respond to emergencies, such as equipment failures, power outages, or chemical spills, to minimize environmental impact and ensure continued operation.
• Coordinate the drivers and unload the tankers efficiently.
• Work with other technicians, drivers, and supervisors to optimize plant operations.
• Communicate effectively with team members and report any issues or abnormalities.
• Train new employees and share knowledge with team members.
• Other duties as assigned.

• OSHA Certification or equivalent safety training is preferred.
