Job summary

The City of Garland is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator II/III to monitor and operate wastewater facilities, collect samples, and maintain records for regulatory compliance.

Under supervision, you will oversee SCADA readings, perform maintenance tasks, coordinate with supervisors on repairs, and mentor junior staff as Operator III. Candidates should hold appropriate licenses and have relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Wastewater Operator II requires 3 years of experience or equivalent education/experience; Texas Class B WW license.
• Operator III requires Texas Class A WW license and 6 years of related experience; high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operations, collect samples, test and read SCADA instrumentation for compliance and efficiency.
• Operate equipment, perform housekeeping, manage data and records, and support process improvements.
• Notify supervisors of repairs and coordinate O&M procedures for assets and lift stations.
• Maintain logs in written and electronic form and ensure safety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with staff and contractors to keep facility grounds and assets in good condition.
