Job summary

Gulf Coast Authority operates a wastewater treatment facility and receiving station, seeking an Operator II to assist with routine plant operations and maintenance. You will collect samples, monitor processes, and support testing and data documentation to ensure safe, compliant wastewater treatment.

The role requires familiarity with plant operations, ability to relay information to lab and maintenance teams, and capability to assist in advancing toward higher certification levels.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the wastewater treatment process and receiving station operations.
• Ability to read memoranda, daily work schedules, log sheets, technical manuals, and procedures.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to compute plant flows and test results.
• Ability to write memoranda, log sheets, work orders, and other reports.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples for tests and maintain sample stations.
• Monitor plant operations by comparing data from pH and DO tests.
• Maintain records of plant operations and input data for billing.
• Perform minor maintenance such as valve adjustments and grit pan cleaning.
• Communicate with lab personnel, maintenance personnel, vendors, and other plant operators.
